Both Garfield Robotics Teams Win 1st in a Category This Weekend
This weekend, the two Garfield HS FIRST Robotics teams competed in the Inter-League FTC Competition in Lacy. Awards were given in several categories and the GHS teams each won a first and third.
Team 4042 “Nonstandard Deviation”:
1st: Rockwell Collins Innovate Award – for their out of the box designs, living up to their team name
3rd: Think Award – for documenting their engineering process in their engineering notebook
Team 12788 “Ultraviolet”:
1st: Design Award – for design elements of the Robot that are both functional and aesthetic. One of the lightest and
3rd: Connect Award – for connecting with their local communities promoting explorations and opportunities available in the world of engineering, science and technology, through their outreach to local schools and running a summer camp. Assisted by a donation of equipment by the PTSA last spring.
And Team 4042 will be advancing to State in two weeks!
