GHS Race & Equity Team Receives $48,000 Ethnic Studies Training Grant

Garfield’s Race and Equity Team (RET) is happy to announce it is the recipient of a $48,000 grant from King County Best Start for Kids. The grant is to provide the entire staff at Garfield with a cycle of Professional Development Trainings in Ethnic Studies for the 2018-19 School Year.

Garfield will be the first school in Seattle Public schools for the entire staff to receive this critical training to help us transform both our curriculum and teaching practices. Garfield’s RET will be working in conjunction with Wayne Au from the University of Washington Bothell and Rethinking Schools to provide this exciting training.
