Mid-Winter Break Opportunity at Center for Wooden Boats

This mid-winter break in collaboration with the Center for Wooden Boats, the Seattle Skills Center is offering Seattle High School students a fantastic new experience! This experience takes place on land and in boats on the waters of Lake Union. In the first half of the day students will learn how to make their own half hull boat model. Students will laminate the waterlines of the vessel and then carefully carve the designed shape of the vessel smooth. Then, the second half of the day, students will explore life on board a ship, and plunge into the science of steam powered engines, and navigation (please see attachment below).
