Please Help GHS Congress of Racial Equality Club Pay for Buses

Congress of Racial Equality (CORE) is a student-led club run through Garfield High School that focuses on complex issues of race, gender, sexuality, family dynamics, mental health, and other intersections of identity. We bring a diverse group of Garfield students on three retreats each year in effort to build community and strengthen relationships.

These trips are considered some of the most powerful and eye-opening experiences in students’ lives. The day before our last retreat, the Seattle Public School Bus Drivers all went on strike, and we had to scramble to get charter buses for our trip at the last moment. Because of this added expense, we were left in about $3000 worth of debt.

Your support is vital to the success of our organization. The money we raise will go towards scholarships so that all students can come on our retreats regardless of financial status. Any donation will help us continue to lead such unique and important trips for a diverse community. Thank you for donating and/or sharing this page!
