The WA State Legislature directed the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) to put together a workgroup of diverse school districts and education stakeholders to review the levels of staffing currently provided to schools through its funding formula.
The workgroup was tasked with using research and evidence to identify and determine appropriate staff-to-student ratios of school staff who aid in closing opportunity gaps affecting student populations, assisting struggling students, enhancing academic outcomes for all students, or strengthening support for all school staff.
Before submitting their recommendations to the Legislature, the Workgroup seeks feedback from educators, administrators, parents and families, students, and other stakeholders and community members. The survey is available in English and Spanish, and will close at 11:59 pm on Tuesday, November 12. The link to the survey is below:
