Summer Opportunity: Shades of Purple for Rising Seniors

“Shades of Purple in the Community” was created to encourage underrepresented minority students to pursue higher education as well as to give them the opportunity to experience the UW Seattle. It is a student conference for high school rising seniors (class of 2020). Participants will meet future classmates, learn about campus programs, and discover the diversity and unity that exists within the UW community. The program focuses its resources on serving the following underrepresented minority groups: African American, Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander (Melanesian, Polynesian, Micronesian) Southeast Asian, (Vietnamese, Lao, Khmer, Hmong, Mien, etc.) Hispanic/Latino, and American Indian/Alaska Native.

Note: Application and participation is open to all students regardless of race/ethnic background. We will not be providing overnight accommodations for the Seattle sessions.

Seattle session I: July 17 – 18
Seattle session II: August 13 – 14
