Letter from Principal Howard Regarding Schedule Changes
Hello Garfield Families,
I wanted to give you an update regarding schedule changes that are coming. This week, Garfield will be changing student schedules to alleviate some of the overcrowding in over-enrolled classes. Unfortunately, these changes will affect nearly the entire school population and there is no way to determine whose schedule will change and how it will change. However, please know the Garfield Counselors will do their best to have the least amount of change as possible to students schedules. The counseling team is working to have all schedule changes completed between Monday 30SEP and Thursday 03OCT. Administration has been conducting interviews to hire highly qualified candidates for the newly added classes since the district restored funding. However, the fact remains that there will be Substitute Teachers in some of our classrooms for the first few days of these changes. Please know that Administration is working diligently to secure permanent teachers for the open positions, so that everyone can firmly settle into this school year. We hope to have all positions filled by Friday, October 4th.
