Volunteer Info & Signup Options
Volunteers help make Garfield an even better school! Thank you in advance for any time you can give! Some volunteer opportunities are with the school, and others are with organizations, such as the PTSA, that support the school.
Can I volunteer right away?
If you are currently a District-approved volunteer OR wish to volunteer for the PTSA, you can go straight to the PTSA’s current list of onetime opportunities with us and GHS. If not, please read the information below the signup button.
Getting set to volunteer
School-supervised programs
- Read about the school’s volunteer program, including the simple approval process if you will be in roles where students are present.
- Fill out GHS volunteer signup/interests form (current as of spring 2024)
- Get approved for volunteering. This is required for certain in-school needs and field trips, and includes a background check that may take two weeks.
PTSA support for Garfield
- Check for PTSA onetime volunteer opportunities listed on SignupGenius. (Some may require the District approval process.)
- Fill out PTSA volunteer signup/interests form (below)
Watch for announcements
Both the PTSA and Garfield staff will announce volunteer needs through email messages, websites and other channels. If you are receiving the PTSA eBark Newsletter or using social media such as the PTSA Facebook page or Garfield Families Facebook Group, you’ll hear about new opportunities.
