Garfield Student Groups and Clubs
GHS has dozens of student-led clubs and organizations! They cover a broad range of topics … Theater Tech, Debate, Robotics, Art, heritage-affinity, social-issue affinity … and so many more that there is something for everyone.
Some of the clubs and organizations relate directly to curricular offerings. For example, students in business/marketing courses often become members of the Garfield chapter of DECA; students in theater courses may be active in a Garfield theater-related club and also become members of the Thespians. Editors and staff of The Messenger (school newspaper) and The Arrow (yearbook) often are enrolled in related journalism and publications courses.
Clubs’ meetings are usually publicized with posters in the buildings and via social media such as Instagram. (Can’t locate a club’s posts? Try a search in Instagram, using “Garfield” or “GHS” and the activity name.)
