Call for ART- 2025 Winter Waltz Poster

Arts Opportunity: ARTISTS – DESIGNERS – PHOTOGRAPHERS

Create POSTER ART for the 2025 WINTER WALTZ
The Winter Waltz is an annual community celebration and fundraiser for Garfield music programs. Garfield orchestras provide music for an evening of dancing enjoyed by students, staff and parents alike.

Theme for 2025: WALTZ of the FLOWERS

Submissions due FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 8

Final art will be used to publicize the Winter Waltz in print and social media:
– Posters at Garfield and around the city
– Program cover at the event itself
– Web, Facebook and Instagram

SUBMISSION: Send a simple digital file or digital photo of your submission to: arts@garfieldptsa.org

FINAL ART must be adaptable to a 11×17 poster image size at 300dpi (3300 x 5100 pixels)
We can work with you to format, scan or photograph final design for use in the poster and program.

– can be full color or black & white
– Traditional art or digital or photography
– Imagery or text/font or both

We are looking for imaginative concepts and imagery with the potential to create a strong, attractive design.
A professional designer will adapt chosen work for use in the poster and programs. You can be as involved in this process as you wish!

Possible inspiration:
– Flowers, floral design, dance and waltzing, music, orchestra, instruments, musicians
– Historical reference: Tchaikovsky’s Waltz of the Flowers
– Cultural and fashion inspiration: 2024 MET Gala: GARDEN OF TIME

The winning entry or entries will receive: 
– Written credit on posters and programs
– 2 Tickets to the Winter Waltz
– Copies of printed and digital materials for portfolio use
