Bubblin Brown Sugar Dance Competition! — Saturday, April 28

Bubblin Brown Sugar is a High School Dance Competition that takes place at Garfield High School. For nearly 40 years, the event has featured synchronized dance teams competing for the title of best in the City. After a 5-year hiatus, the event returned in 2016 to a grateful community that missed the event.

Teams of up to 15 dancers perform 5 to 10-minute routines filled with coordinated, dynamic enthusiasm. Official High School teams compete for the championship and exhibition teams for a variety of backgrounds perform for pride! The event is judged by local and national personalities that have deep roots in the dance community. More than just a competition and great fun, the event has turned into an inter-generational reunion of sorts with alumni, friends, and whole families in attendance.

Proceeds from the event benefit 100 Black Parents, a Seattle based 501c(3) non-profit, that leads students and parent engagement programs at Garfield High School and beyond.
