Congratulations to Garfield’s 12 National Merit Scholarship Commended Students in the Class of 2027. Their PSAT scores placed them in the top 50,000 fall 2025 test-takers, although they are not among the Semifinalists who are eligible for scholarships:

About Letters of Commendation
The “Letters of Commendation” recognize a PSAT “selection index” score above 208 but below the semifinalist level.
This score is on page 2 of the PSAT score report provided by schools, or can be seen by a student using the College Board’s “BigFuture School” app. (Note: this app is designed in part as a way to allow colleges and others to market to students, so your student may wish to opt out of the “Connections” features.)
