Countdown to Graduation – Key Dates for Seniors
TO DO Before Friday, June 11
- Check for money owed in your Schoology account (parents may check using their parent Source Account – look to the left under “Books, Fines, Fees”). Fines may be paid via SchoolPay from a parent account or email Ms. Hurd (lahurd@seattleschools.org) for other payment options.
- Submit all assignments to teachers
- Return Laptop & Books
- Check school email for school counselor email confirming graduation status

GRADUATION EVENTS
Friday, June 11, after school 4 pm: Drive through graduation celebration. Walk or drive through the back lot (down 25th, behind Garfield) to wave goodbye to your favorites, feel special, and get your dog tag. For new folks: last year, Ms. Lynch and the PTSA organized an amazing send-off to the class of 2020 in the back parking lot of GHS. Students wore their caps and gowns and drove with their families down a route on 25th that was PACKED with excited GHS staff (masked and six feet apart, duh), screaming our heads off with congratulations and love. For many of us, it was the first time we’d seen the kids or each other since March. Mr. Barnes wore the bulldog suit. In the middle, Mr. Howard, covered in PPC, handed out swag bags, including the classic senior class dog tags. Even though this year, in-person graduation is just a few days later, we’re still planning to do this, swag and all.
Monday, June 14, 10 – 11:30 am (arrive 9:30): Graduation Practice. Garfield Gymnasium. 11:30am -12:30 pm: 3rd Cap & Gown distribution. Garfield Concessions Stand in the Gymnasium facility.

Tuesday, June 15, after graduation: Grad Night. The traditional Grad Night senior party after the commencement ceremony is ON! Currently buses are scheduled to depart from Garfield but this may be changed back to Memorial Stadium. Post-Graduation
- If necessary, online summer school begins Tuesday, July 26. See your counselor to register.
- Diplomas will be mailed out in August.
