Parents/guardians: Come to Curriculum Night Oct. 10

Curriculum Night is in person at Garfield on Thursday, Oct. 10, 6:15-8:40 pm.

This is an opportunity to hear from school administrators and visit your student’s classrooms to meet each teacher and enjoy a brief (10-minute) presentation. See schedule below.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO

	Before arriving, parents/guardians should get their student’s schedule from The Source or from your student. (Directions for logging into The Source are on the SPS website.)
	Write the schedule on Garfield’s downloadable Curriculum Night 2024-2025 Info Sheet.
	Driving to GHS? Parking can be challenging, so leave extra time. Tip: Try the diagonal spaces on 25th Avenue.
	Part of the fun is navigating the confusing hallways of the main building. Maps will be handed out.
	There’s usually no food. Don’t arrive without eating dinner or at least a snack. A water bottle will be handy, too.
	You’ll like putting a face to a teacher name, but don’t come with complicated questions — the 10 minutes go fast.
	Go to the Garfield Commons to say hi to GHS Counselors, other GHS staff and representatives of community partner organizations.
	It’s a firm stop at 8:40. Teachers are required to attend a closing staff meeting.

Student-Athlete Orientation: 5:30 pm (Quincy Jones Auditorium)
For families of student-athletes, this session will provide important information about Garfield’s athletic programs, expectations, and opportunities for students involved in sports.

Parent info meeting: 6:15 – 6:50 pm (Quincy Jones Auditorium)

1st Period: 7:00 – 7:10 pm

2nd Period: 7:15 – 7:25 pm

3rd Period: 7:30 – 7:40 pm

4th Period: 7:45 – 7:55 pm

5th Period: 8:00 – 8:10 pm

Advisory: 8:15 – 8:25 pm

6th Period: 8:30 – 8:40 pm

Parents/guardians, please depart after the 6th Period session!

Staff Meeting: 8:45 pm (For faculty and staff ONLY)
