PTSA General Meeting: 2026-27 Budget/Staffing and Guest Speaker on Executive Function & ADHD
March 10, 6:30 – 8:00 pm in the library at Garfield (plus informal social time from 6-6:30pm)
Please join us for a very important PTSA General Meeting featuring:
- An school update from Interim Principal Mr. Breland
- The latest news on the critical budget situation for Seattle Public Schools and discussion about the district’s staff allocation and impacts to Garfield for next year. We need as many voices as possible advocating to preserve the Garfield experience for current and future students, so please join this meeting to learn more.
- A guest speaker on “Understanding and Supporting Executive Function and ADHD in High Schoolers” (feel free to submit questions in advance here).
Guest Speaker:
Nicole Groves, Ph.D., is an Acting Assistant Professor at the University of Washington School of Medicine and a licensed clinical psychologist at Seattle Children’s Hospital. She received her B.S. in psychology from Oklahoma State University, completed a Ph.D. in clinical psychology at Florida State University, and completed her predoctoral internship at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Her research focuses on emotion regulation and executive functioning in ADHD, and she is interested in contributing to the optimization of interventions for these and related impairments for individuals with ADHD.
Note: A brief PTSA Board meeting will follow the General meeting. All are welcome.
