Students Shine in Business Competition

Twenty Garfield students recently competed in the 2024 Washington DECA Area Career Development Conference (ACDC) for this part of the state.  Washington DECA has a mission to prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management.

Several will advance to the State Career Development Conference in March. Eleven received awards in the following categories (Washington DECA Area 2):

Business Finance Series	Samuel Schaible – 1st
Hospitality and Tourism Professional Selling	Vivian Geri – 1st
Apparel and Accessories Marketing	Athena Brkanac – 2nd
Sports and Entertainment Marketing	Nate Cook – 3rd Sean Aryana – 8th
Hotel and Lodging Management	Izzy Summers – 5th Kyle Cobden – 9th
Restaurant and Food Service Management	Flynn Connolly – 7th Olivia Petty – 8th
Human Resource Management	Zack Bukovec – 7th
Marketing Communications	Noah Eisenberg – 11th
