2019-24 Seattle Public Schools Strategic Plan Adopted

On March 27, 2019, the Seattle School Board unanimously approved the district’s 2019-24 Strategic Plan during the regular board meeting. The five-year plan sets the sets the course for the district and will help us focus our resources, work, and initiatives. Watch a recording of the March 27 School Board Meeting.

The plan reflects what Superintendent Juneau learned from students, families, staff and partners, and unlike prior plans, embodies “strategic.” While the district’s work to provide excellence to all of our students will continue, this new plan focuses on students furthest away from educational justice. It is a bold plan, one that will help us move the needle and make sure that every student gets what they need to graduate prepared for college, career, and community.

Thank you to the community and to those who served on the Strategic Plan Steering Committee. The Strategic Plan is much stronger because it reflects the perspectives, wisdom, and values of our families and partners. Thank you to the School Board for such robust and thoughtful conversations throughout this process. And thank you to our entire community for supporting a plan that sets the course for educational justice.
