Annual Fund Update – June 2020

Dear Garfield Families and Community Members,

What an unusual end to this school year.  We, like you, grieve for the loss of so much for our students but first and foremost we wish everyone to remain safe and healthy.

We want to thank everyone who made a gift to the Annual Fund this year.  Every donation – whether it’s $10 or $1000 – benefits all students at Garfield.  We did not quite reach our goal this year, raising $111,377 of the $135,000 goal, but in light of broader concerns facing the nation and the world, we did not think it right to engage in our usual fundraising push this spring. 

The monies raised this year fund student programs for next year.  The PTSA coordinates with the school administration to identify and fund programs of greatest need and benefit.  As the school administration is still dealing with budget uncertainty for the fall, the Garfield PTSA has not yet voted on a final budget for the 2020-21 school year.   Once we do so the budget will be posted on our website as usual. https://garfieldptsa.org/annual-fund
