Students who order their caps and gowns by April 7 will be able to pick them up on Wednesday, April 19, during lunch at the Concessions Stand in the Gymnasium Building.
Garfield counselors will help with course registration and answer questions online (MS Teams). For incoming 9th-graders (as well as any other new students and families). Registration for this session is required; send attendee’s name and email address to Head Counselor Kandace Alston.

All students in Grade 10 are expected to take the English Language Arts (ELA) assessment.
- Garfield HS will administer the ELA assessment April 24-28 during language arts classes.
Students in Grades 11 and 12 may take the Smarter Balanced Assessments (SBA) in English Language Arts (ELA) and Math, if needed to fulfill their graduation pathway.
- Retakes for those students who have not passed or who have not yet taken the SBA will be administered April 24-28, 9a-3:30p, in the Gym.
