Treats, fruit needed for staff ‘First Fridays’ breakfast

Hey, families, show your appreciation for Garfield teachers and staff by signing up to donate food for the next “First Fridays” monthly breakfast.

The requested donations include baked treats, savory items and fruit. Especially appreciated: Options for vegan and gluten-free diets. Drop off items in Room 302 (3rd floor, above main entrance) 7:15-7:30 am on the day of the event, OR on Thursday at the home of an event volunteer listed in the signup.

The events were restarted in fall 2023 by Special Education/Social Studies Teacher Brooke Kircher and Theater Teacher Natalie Gress, with an assist from Art Teacher Anita West, who “hosts” in her airy classroom. PTSA funding supplies coffee/tea, but most food is donated — a volunteer signup becomes available 10 days or so before the breakfast.
