GHS college/career seminars for students, families
Garfield will be offering seminars on college, career, and future planning for students (April 24) and families (April 28).
The emphasis will be on exploring options rather than committing to a single path, according to GHS Counselor Jess Allen. Key topics include:
- Why knowing who you are now matters more than choosing a future career
- Why planning your career too early can backfire
- How to build skills and strategies that expand your future opportunities
For Students (all grades welcome):
The seminar will be during Advisory on Thursday, April 24, 2025, in the Quincy Jones Auditorium. Attendance is excused if you arrive by 3:05 pm.
For Families:
The same seminar will be offered virtually via Microsoft Teams 6 pm on Monday, April 28, 2025. A meeting link will be shared in an upcoming GHS newsletter.
