GHS thespians run ‘Loose’ at festival

Thespy Awards "masks" logoDozens of Garfield performers and crew members earlier this month attended the 2025 Washington State Thespian Festival at the Seattle Convention Center.

Theatre Teacher Natalie Gress reports that Garfield’s WIP (Work In Progress) performance of an excerpt from Footloose (the upcoming spring musical) was met with roaring applause!

Additionally, a performed excerpt of Garfield Theatre’s fall 2024 play, Love, Loss and What I Wore, was judged “Superior,” and students brought home a trophy for their outstanding work on the production.

GHS Junior Maya Brewster was selected to serve on the State Theatre Leadership Team (State Thespian Officer) for 2025-26. This position is an incredible honor. She will represent high school Thespians across the state, advocating for their needs and facilitating events and communication.
