GHS Has Most Nominees for 2024 Regional Emmys

NW Emmy logo 2024Participants in Garfield’s Video Production Program received 10 Student Emmy Nominations in this year’s NATAS (National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences) Northwest competition, more than any other high school. Congratulations!

Teacher Jacques Pugh noted this is significant because the region includes schools in Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Idaho and Montana. “And we did it with just an iota of equipment and production budgets,” Mr. Pugh said. “We have very talented students, some of whom, no doubt will be working in the Video-Film-News industry one day.”

The students and Mr. Pugh will attend this year’s NATAS NW Emmy Ceremony in June, where the winners will be announced and the nominees recognized. The students will also get a chance to meet and greet professionals working in the local TV arena.
