Seniors: Apply now for Golden Grads Scholarship
Every year, the Garfield Golden Grads alumni organization awards scholarships to graduating seniors. The 2025 scholarship application is available online.
The Garfield Golden Grads (GGG) Scholarships were founded in 1992 by members of the Class of 1954. In past cycles, GGG has awarded 40+ scholarships, ranging from $2,000 to $5,000 each.
Applications will be accepted until 5 pm March 28, 2025,

Who Can Apply
The Garfield Golden Grads are looking for leaders who are:
- Garfield Seniors (graduating in June 2025) who will be
- Attending a 2-year college, or
- Attending a 4-year university, or
- Attending a trade/vocational school
Other Criteria
- No GPA requirement (but must submit transcript)
- No income restrictions
- Demonstrate leadership in school & community
- Has overcome hardship (in addition to the pandemic)
- Love for Garfield!
How it works
Read the actual application in case of any late-breaking changes! This first-come-first-accepted application process includes the following steps:
- Complete the online GGG Scholarship Application
- Submit a transcript and 2 Letters of Recommendation to Mr. Rees. (These must be printed on paper — hard copies!)
- Check your personal email to find out if you were selected for an interview
- Complete an in-person interview with GGG panel at Garfield
- Check your personal email to see if you won a scholarship
- Attend a mandatory Scholarship Lunch at Garfield to receive your award
Applications (with all attachments) will be accepted until

- Each application will be connected to a student’s school (SPS) email account, so make sure to check both: school and personal email.
