Healthy Youth CAN Billboard Contest

In the beginning of the COVID-19 Pandemic, Seattle Public Schools’ Healthy Youth CAN (HYCAN) program met with community organizations to look at ways to engage students remotely.  Billboards reflecting themes of Hope and Resilience were a great solution, and they could be designed virtually!

In this third year of the pandemic, HYCAN has once again reserved five billboards in Central Seattle, and we are accepting entries from youth ages 5-19 who live, attend school, church, and/or have roots in our Central Seattle community.

Theme focus questions:

What is helping you stay healthy and strong during the pandemic?

What are you looking forward to when it is over?

Artwork should be 8” X 10” or 768 x 90 px, and either scanned or photographed in good light, without shadows, and saved in a JPEG, PNG or PDF image.

Poetry should be relatively short, although we can edit and highlight two or three lines. An independent panel will select the entries that best reflect the theme listed above.

Please send your students’ entries to sgtschida@seattleschools.org by March 4th.  Billboards are expected to be displayed starting April 11th.
