Feb. 14 Deadline: Seattle Promise offers 2 free years of college
Josh Valdez is the Outreach Specialist at Garfield for Seattle Promise, the program that offers free tuition of up to 2 years (or 90 college credits) at any one of the Seattle Colleges (North, Central, South). Seattle Promise will be accepting new applications until Feb. 14, 2025 (for college enrollment in fall 2025).
This is a great — and safe — option for a student who may be interested in the transfer pathway (to the University of Washington or Seattle University, for example). Students can always opt out from the program.
Josh says, “We super encourage everyone to at least apply before the deadline so that they can have a guaranteed backup plan, in case!”
But, don’t delay: Students must apply both for the Seattle Promise scholarship and to one of the Seattle Colleges! Here are:
Students who apply will be able to get FAFSA/WASFA (financial aid form) support, and also receive transfer advising. Students who apply and would like to transfer to either UW or Seattle University will be able to receive priority support services/admissions (and in some cases be able to continue their free tuition scholarship).
