Jordan Chaney Special Poetry Assembly at GHS! — Thursday, March 15
Gifted spoken word poet, author, public speaker, teacher and mentor, Jordan Chaney will grace Garfield with his presence on Thursday, March 15 in the Quincy Jones Auditorium. This will be a sign-up assembly in 4th period. If your student is into spoken word and poetry, they will not want to miss Jordan!
Jordan was awarded the 2017 Commitment to Diversity award and also guest speaks at colleges on race, politics, and social justice. Most recently, Jordan created “Urban Poet’s Society” a youth leadership program that promotes arts, literacy and leadership in his community. He currently teaches a performance poetry and communications class at a local Juvenile Detention Center, where he helps youth find their inner voice through the power of poetry. https://www.poetjordan.com/bio
