Meet Mr. Young, Our School Psychologist

It’s National School Psychology Week and we are recognizing Mr. Justin Young, our school psychologist, and the important work he does to help our students thrive and shine.

This is Mr. Young’s sixth year at Garfield High School, and he loves working with GHS staff and families. He works with students with disabilities, assesses diverse learning needs, and provides insight regarding students’ academic and social/emotional skills. He assists teachers and families in understanding evaluation results and navigating the special education processes. He provides staff with support monitoring student progress, individualizing instruction, and problem-solving interventions or resources. Mr. Young is a big believer in promoting mental health awareness, radical acceptance, and disability pride.

Mr. Young’s office is located in the counseling area (104H). Families, staff, and students can reach him at: jmyoung@seattleschools.org.

Thanks, Mr. Young, for all that you do!
