POST 84 Free Avalanche Safety / Winter Recreation Webinar

POST 84 is pleased to present an avalanche safety webinar designed specifically for Garfield HS students who are exploring winter recreation in the backcountry, from snowshoeing and winter hiking, to skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling and winter camping. Northwest Avalanche Center (NWAC) Youth Ambassadors and Garfield senior Aaron Banse and junior Annika Harding will share a basic approach to managing risk, explaining how to access avalanche and mountain weather forecasts and recognize basic signs of avalanche danger to support student outdoor adventurers’ decision-making in the field, an essential and potentially lifesaving skills. All Garfield students (and families/guardians) are welcome to attend.
