Many services at Garfield Teen Health Center
Students can get routine preventative care, vaccines, mental healthcare and more. The goal is to support students succeed in school and beyond by providing care where they spend most of their time – at school!

- Where is the Teen Health Center?
The Teen Health Center is inside the red-brick main building in Suite 102. (Turn left after entering the GHS purple main doors.) We are co-located with the School Nurse. Come say hello!
- What are the hours?
Open Monday-Friday 8 am-4:30 pm on school days (beginning the first day of school — in 2024, Sept. 4).
- Who can use the health center?
Our services are available to any Garfield student and any student with an SPS student ID.
Written consent from the child’s parent or legal guardian is required before they can be seen for non-confidential services (sports physicals, vaccines, routine preventative care etc.). Consent forms are available at the health center and at the school’s front desk.
Students may consent to their own confidential care only in the following cases:

- mental health care at 13 years or older
- STI testing and treatment at 14 years or older
- reproductive healthcare at any age.
Students can register for confidential services in-person at the health center.
- How much does it cost?
All services are currently offered at no out-of-pocket cost to families. If patients need a referral to specialty care or are seen at an Odessa Brown location outside of school, then insurance will be billed. Our care coordinator can help with Apple Health enrollment if needed.
