Volunteers Needed for Mock Public Forums in Government Class

Mr. Neufeld-Kaiser’s Government classes will be holding mock public forums on immigration policy. The students will be taking the role of experts representing real interest groups seeking policy changes.

He is seeking 2-3 volunteers to be panelists whose job is to ask questions of the students. No prep is required. According to Mr. N-K, “The goal is to give the students a practice run at the simulation role play, and to expose them to lots of topics and viewpoints related to the complex immigration debate.  They won’t actually be experts, we’ll have worked on this for a week.  It’s a fun chance to see bright enthusiastic students in action.”

On Wednesday, September 18 he needs people for periods 3 and 5. Ideally the volunteers would stay for both periods (from 10:30 am-2:20 pm), but if they only have time for one class, here are the times: period 3 from 10:30 am-12 pm, or period 5 from 12:45 pm-2:20 pm. On Thursday, September 19 he only needs help during 4th period, from 11:30 am-1:15 pm.
