Your Voice, Your Choice (YVYC): Parks & Streets for the Department of Neighborhoods is a participatory budgeting program through which community members decide how to allocate funding for park and street improvements in the City of Seattle. Anyone can submit an idea, and those ideas are reviewed and prioritized by teams of volunteer community members in Project Development. The top-priority ideas for each City Council district are then voted on by community members in the Voting phase, and the ideas that receive the highest number of votes are included in the Mayor’s budget for the Implementation phase, which takes place the following year.
