“On The Brink” Film Screening – Nov 20

Garfield High School and Meredith Matthews YMCA invite you to a screening of a powerful film on Central District gentrification:  On the Brink, A film by Jeff Shulman and Steven Fong.

On the Brink tells a story of Seattle’s once-thriving African American community on the brink of vanishing and their struggle to have a place to call home in a city undergoing a transformation.

Director Jeff Shulman will be joined by community leaders for a panel discussion and talkback after the film! Learn about the origins of the Central District, its economic and cultural significance, and how the remaining community members are working to carry forward the rich legacy of the neighborhood.

Proceeds from ticket sales go to support the YMCA Y Scholars program. Youth 18 and under admitted FREE (no ticket purchase required).
