Supporting Students and Staff During Ramadan

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Muslim calendar, observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting, prayer, reflection and community. Ramadan begins the evening of Wednesday, March 22, and continues through the evening of Thursday, April 20.

Garfield High School affirms and supports students and staff from all faith backgrounds. Garfield provides all students and staff with a space to pray. There are separate spaces for women and men in the counseling center and in room 321A. In addition, the calming room in the counseling office is available for students to gather during lunches.

As a reminder, students and staff may request religious accommodations if needed. The procedure for requesting religious accommodations is outlined at: https://www.seattleschools.org/news/requesting-religious-accommodations/
