ChickTech Girls in STEM Nominations Open

For the last two years, ChickTech-Seattle has been a driving force in encouraging girls to pursue STEM (Science, Technology, Mathematics and Engineering) Education by providing tech workshops and skill-building events.

What is ChickTech: High School Program?
Our year-long program provides a series of opportunities for 100 to 150 high school girls. It kicks off in December and is a fun, positive learning experience, designed to build participants’ self-assurance in their technical abilities. We host monthly workshop where girls get to build cool tech projects!

How Much Is It?
Through generous donations from our corporate partners and local supporters, this program is free-of-charge to participants. We also provide meals, snacks, transportation options, interpreters and childcare assistance provided as needed. Breakfast, lunch and snacks are also included at each event.

  • Would probably not consider a tech career without extra encouragement
  • Have not created technology before (that are not already on a robotics team, coding, etc. (About 70%)

Step 2 (Nov. 9 – 15): We’ll print acceptance letters, addressed to each of the potential participants and deliver them to the girls’ schools.

Step 3 (Nov. 15 – Dec. 1): Participants will need to reserve their spot for the event online through our registration form. The event is on first come, first served basis, with, although we will have a waiting list in case there are cancellations.

Step 4 (Dec. 10 – 11): We’ll kick-off our weekend event with 8 tech workshops! We encourage you to attend the Tech Show on Sunday, Dec. 11 from 4:30 – 5:30 PM to show your support.
