Course Change Request Policy & Form

Students who have a course change request that fits the criteria below should please follow the instructions carefully.

The deadline to submit a course change request form is the third day of school at 4 pm. 


Changes will only be considered for the following reasons:

  • Hole in your schedule (fewer than 6 classes)
  • Running Start schedule conflict
  • 12th grader missing graduation requirement
  • Repeat course that you have already taken

Changes will NOT be considered for:

  • Teacher or period preference
  • Elective preference

Please do not submit more than one course request form. Please be patient. You will receive an email response from your school counselor to your school email address. School counselor caseload assignments and the course change request form are available on the Garfield School Counseling website (
