Family Engagement Task Force invitation
Dear Families and Community Members,
Seattle Public Schools is seeking members for the Family Engagement Task Force, which will convene from February until May 2018.
The application deadline is Feb. 19, 2018. The Family Engagement Task Force was formed to bring the district’s family engagement work into alignment and identify areas for additional support.
Our district values and recognizes that authentic family engagement is one of the most important factors in ensuring student academic success, improving school culture and creating welcoming environments. We are committed to working with families to ensure that every student is known by strength, story and need. Families, community partners and school communities partnered with us to create a strategic plan that prioritized family engagement. As a result, policy #4129 and #4129SP were adopted to guide our school-based family engagement practices. Through this task force, you can help foster continued alignment, innovation and success for our district’s family engagement supports.
Participants will be asked to make a commitment for four months (February, March, April and May). In addition, you may be asked to engage within subcommittees and communities for a monthly total of up to 10 hours.
More information about the task force and application is available online and can be translated with the drop-down menu on the top right corner of the website. If you have questions, please call me at 206-252-0716 or email familypartnerships@seattlescho
