Meet & Greet for Orchestra, Band, Jazz Families

Be aware of the new start time for Music Night on Friday, Sept. 22! Families with instrumental music students will have a chance to meet each other and GHS teachers, including new interim Orchestra Director Mike Sundt, who until recently led the Washington Middle School Band & Jazz programs.

The event will run 6-8 pm in the Commons, and feature light refreshments. [UPDATED from original 5-7 pm time frame.]

Attendees will also hear about the year’s expected concerts and other activities. The event will be something of a debut for Friends of Garfield Music, the new name for Friends of Garfield Orchestra (FOGO). This  change actually is a return to the original non-profit incorporation name of 30+ years ago!  Friends of Garfield Music will support all orchestras and bands at the school.

[9/18 UPDATE] Garfield Jazz Foundation board members will also be present to provide information about the new before-school jazz classes for Jazz Ensembles 2 and 3.
