Apply by Sept. 29 to Get Paid to Learn Web Design

Deadline is Sept. 29 for high school students to apply to join a web-design program at Garfield, created by the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle and the University of Washington AVELA.

Students will learn web development skills in order to build websites for local businesses and organizations. A $400 stipend is paid to students who successfully attend sessions and create a website.

The program runs Oct. 3 to Dec. 5, 4-6 pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. (No class Thanksgiving Week.) The last day (Dec. 5) is a field trip to UW!

AVELA is a UW student group that seeks to bridge opportunity gaps in the public education system.  Its efforts are open to all, and center the experience of younger underrepresented minority students.
