Teens: Learn How to Start a Tech Business at The Seattle Public Library — Saturday, Feb. 9

Curious about starting your own business as a teen? At Startup Kickoff Seattle, students ages 13 to 18 will have the hands-on opportunity to invent, refine and pitch their own ideas to local business leaders from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9 at the Central Library, 1000 Fourth Ave., Level 4, Washington Mutual Foundation Meeting Room 1, (206) 386-4636.

Library events and programs are free and everyone is welcome. Registration is required. Teens, parents and guardians can use the code: Greater0209. Waiver forms will be sent for attendees, parents and guardians to fill out and complete by the day of the event.

This 5-hour youth entrepreneurship and technology workshop includes partnerships with several community organizations.

SCHEDULE

10 to 10:30 AM — Orientation

10:30to 11 AM — Ice-break activity

11 to noon — Forming ideas

Noon to 1:30 PM — Final touches

1:30 to 2:30 PM — Pitching to judges

2:30 to 3 PM — Winner announced
