Those Texts Sent by GHS Teachers…

Has your cellphone chimed with texts from any of your student’s teachers? Garfield and other schools are putting more emphasis on contacting families in this manner, using “TalkingPoints.” 

TalkingPoints allows regular texting of messages to families, but also offers a free App that will receive the texts in the “language spoken at home” families provided to the District.

The App also can improve two-way conversations with the teacher, although parents and guardians will want to check which form of communication (email, texts, phone call) will work best for each individual teacher.
