Dear Garfield families and friends,

What an unprecedented back-to-school season this is.  So much is new and different this year as students and teachers navigate the remote learning landscape.

What remains the same, however, is our commitment to meeting our students’ and teachers’ needs. The Garfield PTSA stands ready to help with unplanned operating expenses during the pandemic — things like technology and software to support a remote learning model, additional cleaning supplies and protective equipment, and additional aid to students and families suffering the financial impact of COVID-19.

We also continue to seek ways to support the traditional needs of our school — things like professional development, College & Career Center advising, student clubs & organizations — while preparing for the potential return of spring events like the Safe & Sober Grad Night.  With scientific progress and a good measure of luck, we are hopeful that in-person events will safely resume next year.

With this in mind, we kick off the Garfield 2020-21 Annual Fund.  Gifts to the Garfield Annual Fund are the first and most important gifts we ask of our community each year.
