District Print Calendar Changes for 2019-20
Dear families,
Due to the 2019-20 budget shortfall, the printed Seattle Public Schools calendar won’t be available next school year. This means families and staff won’t receive a printed calendar in September 2019.
Why the change?
Additional funding received from the state and/or local levy has been directed to schools and classrooms. Learn more about the 2019-20 budget shortfall and state investment next school year. This means that some functions and supports provided at central office can no longer continue.
In addition, we are interested in transitioning to a more modern, inclusive format for the annual calendar. While the printed calendar won’t be available, here are recommendations on how to get timely calendar information:
Stay Connected:
- Download the Seattle Public Schools mobile web app. The app gives you easy access to district and school calendars, announcements, and quick links to popular resources such as lunch menus and The Source! You can connect the School Messenger notifications app to read or hear messages from your school community and the district, and change the default language to display the app in Chinese, Spanish, Tagalog, and Vietnamese. Read more about the mobile app at www.seattleschools.org/
communications. - Print the annual calendar with important holidays and school break information. The calendar can be easily translated into multiple languages using the Google translated button on the webpage.
