Facilities Master Plan Review Task Force Invitation
Dear families,
The Seattle Public Schools School Board and Facilities and Operations Department are establishing aFacilities Master Plan task force. You are invited to apply.
The task force will support the school board’s oversight of capital planning by reviewing elements of the district’s draft of the long-range Facility Master Plan and providing recommendations. The task force will provide recommendations to the board and staff in two primary areas:
- Identification of the district’s most pressing building capacity needs during the next six years.
- Validation of the scoring and ranking of proposed projects included in the draft Facilities Master Plan.
The task force will be made up of 20 members including district employees, community and family representatives. Because of the short time frame for this work and the technical nature of the requested plan review and recommendations, previous engagement in related committees and/or expertise in enrollment projections and facility planning will be prioritized for selection.
The task force will convene in June and conclude in August. A maximum of six meetings will be held. The location and meeting times will be determined by the task force participants and will be shared with the public.
To learn more or to apply, please visit Facilities Master Plan Review Task Force webpage. Applications are due by Thursday, June 7, at 5 PM. Applicants will be notified Tuesday, June 12, by email, if possible, or by phone.
Thank you for your consideration and support of Seattle Public Schools.
Flip Herndon, associate superintendent of Operations and Facilities
Eden Mack, school board director, District IV
