GHS Changes PSAT, SAT Plan

Principal Hart on Oct. 3 announced changes in SAT and PSAT administration this fall, removing Grade 10 from taking a practice PSAT and moving up the date of the Grade 12 SAT, to Oct. 11.

Excerpt from Dr. Hart’s email:

We want to provide updates and clarification regarding the school-day SAT and PSAT administration.   Please note the updated date for the SAT and details for each grade level:

For Seniors: SAT

• • The SAT will be administered to all seniors on the district’s designated testing date of October 11, 2023.
  • Makeup and extended time for the SAT will be on October 26, 2023.
  • The SAT is often crucial for admissions to selective colleges and serves as a graduation pathway. Qualifying scores for graduation are 410 in ELA and 430 in math.

For Juniors: PSAT/NMSQT

• • The PSAT/NMSQT will be administered exclusively to 11th graders on October 26, 2023.
  • This test serves as practice for the SAT and as the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. High scores may result in eligibility for National Merit Scholarship honors.
  • The PSAT will not be offered to 10th graders this year.
