Amarr, a Garfield junior, was shot and killed during the school day on June 6 after attempting to break up a fight in front of the Quincy Jones Performance Center entrance on the school campus. He was 17. 

  • Some memories of Amarr have been compiled.
  • A GoFundMe has been set up to help the family with expenses.
  • Police have said that they have been impeded in their investigation because of a law that makes it harder to question minors who witnessed a crime. No suspect has been arrested as of July 5.
  • An evolving “Safe Schools Action Plan” was created by PTSA and other community leaders to urge City and District officials do more to deter violence and add supports for students, staff and others facing dangers on and around Seattle Public Schools campuses.
