Meet Rachel Collins! New 2016 GHS College and Career Counselor

Ms. Collins is a GHS alum, class of 2006! She comes to Garfield from the College Success Foundation and also worked at Madrona K-8 and Asa Mercer Middle Schools.

For her, being at Garfield “feels like coming back home.” Although students and staff have changed since her time, she enjoys the welcoming and supportive environment, and working with fellow Bulldogs.

She hopes that more students will discover the many resources available at the College and Career Center! Beyond college visits and applications, they also offer much assistance with internships and careers.

Her advice to students is to learn to advocate for themselves and find where they can get information and help as they become independent after high school. Also organization and time-management are very important skills.
