PTSA Meetings — Tuesday, April 16

Colorful graphic saying "PTSA General Meeting"April 16’s PTSA meetings will be in person at the Garfield Library, and feature presentations by two community organizations and Principal Hart’s updates on 2024-25 staffing, school safety and other issues. He’ll also take your questions!

Come at 6 pm to enjoy refreshments and a chance to chat with others, including PTSA Board members. There will be two consecutive meetings open to all in the Garfield community: the General Meeting (at 6:30), and a Board Meeting (to start at about 8 pm). See agenda below.

Featured speakers from:

  • Y-Scholars, a PTSA-supported program of the YMCA of Greater Seattle, grows with vulnerable and underserved students from the end of 8th grade to graduation, in order to close the achievement gap. Students receive counseling, tutoring, enrichment, intervention, and college-readiness activities.
  • Community Passageways, a city- and county-supported nonprofit that has several community-strengthening roles, including work to prevent violence. Its staff have been present near the Garfield campus in recent months.

While we encourage parents and caregivers to join the PTSA, none of our events or meetings require membership.
